The Dead Sea

Yesterday we visited the the Dead Sea. It is pretty unique: it’s in a valley that is below sea level, and it’s water has an incredible salt concentration.

When we got to the beach, floating in the water was pretty novel! It was a very different kind of water than what I’m used to.

However, the whole area had a post-apocalyptic, empty feeling to it. The haze throughout the whole day, and the extreme corrosion from all the salt really contributed to a funny vibe. I’m not sure if that day was par for the course or an anomaly, but I’m glad we stopped by.
