DC is hosting IGLA+ 2025! We swam a 3K in the National Harbor. It was very nice back in a familiar spot, where I’d swam the Swim for the Potomac and the Washington’s Crossing back in 2017 when I lived in DC.
I came in 3rd in my age division and 8th overall, a few wetsuit swimmers got ahead of me. I wish I had hustled a little harder to place a little better, but overall I’m happy with how I did. I finished in about 47 minutes.
The water temp was about 63ºF which was wonderful for me! But one of my teammates from SF did get a little hypothermic. Luckily he finished and we were able to warm him back up with no serious incident.
