Van had the idea of hiring Captain Brent for an Alcatraz swim, so six of us swimmers did a round-trip. It took 1hr51min, so not my fasted time, but it was a great swim overall. As a group, we podded very well and didn’t get very far from each other at all. It was a gorgeous morning, the water felt nice and warm!

The tides were pretty good. On the way back, we got pushed east by the flood and had to crab along the breakwater a bit, but not too much!

I’m really happy to have been able to do this swim.
