I decided this year that I was going to do our club’s annual “5 Coves of Death” independently, even if there wasn’t going to be a big official club party due to the pandemic.

To help train, I came up with a “Couch to Five Coves” training plan: one additional cove every day in May until May 5. I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re just starting at swimming, adding a cove each day is a decent amount of yardage, but I was in OK enough condition to pull this off.
