Almost every Wednesday, the fairly exclusive Alcatraz Swimming Society (ASS) swims Alcatraz in one direction or the other. This Wednesday, Brian and I scored coveted invites.

We swam to Alcatraz, not from it, which I think was a first for me. There was a very strong flood in to the bay, so we left from Yacht Harbor in the Marina, swam directly north, and got pushed right to the island.

This was an honest swim: we started from land, and we touched the rock at the end, and we finished in about 44min. It was a chilly ride back to the club, but I loved it.
