This Saturday, part of training and prep to do New York’s Great Saunter in May this year, Alex and I walked the SF Double Cross Trail. I did the trail twice last year, once in June where I got some great photos, and once in October where I didn’t because I loaded the film wrong.
I have really enjoyed the ultrawide 21mm for these big walks, so I packed that and some Kodak Gold 200. We were blessed with warm and incredibly sunny weather again (almost too warm), and I am in love with the colors captured this time.

Path
We stuck pretty close to the official course this time, in reverse. The big exception was that towards the end, we decided to call it at Sunset Dunes, hang a right and go Andytown, and end it, instead of going all the way to Fort Funston.
We had some great treats this time!
- Drinks at Coffee Movement (there was basically no line, it was amazing)
- Sandwiches at Submarine Sandwich (worth the wait)
- Donuts at George’s Donuts and Merriment (such a treat, not much of a line either)
My watch reported 13.17mi total, 30,130 steps, 4hr44min of moving time and 6h30min of elapsed time.
