On Saturday I did another big walk. I loaded another roll of Kodacolor 100, the 35mm lens, and set off on the BART to meet my friend Kerianne at our starting point, Fat Apple’s Restaurant and Bakery in El Cerrito.

I didn’t know what kind of photos I’d end up taking on this walk, but quickly, the colorful fall leaves became what I gravitated towards. It was a very bright, very sunny day and some of these might be a tad overexposed with too many flares, but that’s also kind of the charm.

Our goal was to make it from Fat Apple’s to Fairyland, and we did it. We ended up stopping at a few spots to get snacks and drinks along the way. When we stopped by my friend Claire’s, she happened to be baking chocolate chip cookies, so we got to have some of those fresh out of the oven, which was such a treat.
The entire walk was about 5hr4min, with my watch reporting 3hr30min of moving time, 11.25mi and 23,342 steps.
I also found 2 pennies on this walk! I need to get back to prototyping this year’s pennies report.
