This Saturday, two friends from my swim club, Elisabeth and Joseph got married! Both are serious triathletes and huge bike enthusiasts, so it shouldn’t have been a surprise that they incorporated that into their wedding! They had a bike parade from their backyard ceremony to the bar downtown where they had their reception. It was a very San Francisco experience.
Elisabeth asked our friend Alex to be their official photographer, she borrowed my digital camera. I packed my M3 and a few rolls of film to be the second camera just in case. I shot a roll of Portra 400 for outside and Portra 800 for inside.
The sun was bright, and low, and I don’t have a hood for the 50mm lens that I used, so we got a lot of flares. Its charming, but I am considering getting a hood to minimize them next time.
Ceremony
The actual ceremony was very small so I wasn’t there, but I got to hang around just a bit after it and take a few photos.

Bike Parade
The bike parade assembled in front of their house and set off! I think there were about 60 bikes in total.

I rode in a car to the venue with Joseph’s family

The bride arrives!
Inside
The bar, Local Edition, was very dark indoors. Portra 800, while fast film, was still a challenge, not many photos turned out.

After
After the wedding, I finished up the rest of the roll on my way to the bus. I’m really proud of how these turned out for handheld shots in the dark!
